Good point. I believe it might be caused by converting the mp3 to mp4 for Youtube. Gotta investigate further if any rendering settings help make a difference. Thanks!
Thanks for the comments! Appreciate it. Mixing and masteting is definitely not my strongest suit, I wonder if the mix is overall a bit too dark and its the lack of high end that makes it sound poor in quality? Or perhaps some issues with compression?
Very good work! The mix sounds nicely crisp and dynamic to my ears. Love the solo! Mike already commented about the vocal effects that were a nice extra touch to the arrangement. One thing I thought your production was missing would be a more intense build-up towards the choruses. That would make them stand out even more.
in reply to: Jason Steadman – Dead to the World Mix #6920Thanks for commenting on my mix, here to share the feedback :)
The mix is quite loud and gnarly, it’s a unique sound. The bass is clearly audible and has a very nice growl to it. However, I think the guitars are a bit buried under the bass and the vocals.
in reply to: Ville Ritola – Dead To The World Mix #6912Thanks for the comment! Personally I enjoy washed out vocals in death metal (check out Blood Incantation or Chthe’ilist for example) so that’s why I went for it. It’s not for everyone though and might not be the vibe the band was going for haha. Great opportunity to practice and have fun though. Cheers!
in reply to: Harsha Dasari – Dead To The World (Mix) #6909Nice work! Very tight and professional. Especially the drums are super clean compared to the source material
