    Here’s my entry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AlhusqL9fg

Tried to keep it mostly old school and dynamic. No kick or snare samples used.

a nice mix that I thought was relatively will balanced. To my ears, it sounded a tad too dark, and the vocals were washed out in too much reverb for this genre. Kudos for your work though!

Thanks for the comment! Personally I enjoy washed out vocals in death metal (check out Blood Incantation or Chthe’ilist for example) so that’s why I went for it. It’s not for everyone though and might not be the vibe the band was going for haha. Great opportunity to practice and have fun though. Cheers!

Took a listen to the ones you recommended and I hear what you mean now. It’s an interesting effect, making already-hard-to-understand lyrics even harder to catch…lol. But having heard it now I can see how it makes sense in your mix too. It almost adds a “shouting from the pits of hell” feel. =) In the samples I listened to (e.g.. Voidspawn by Chthe’ilist), I liked it better for the non-lyrical growls than where there was lyrical content. I think it will be something I keep in my tool belt from now on though.

Anyway, thanks for paying it back by listening to mine as well. Appreciate the feedback!
