im never a fan of super triggered drums, but this sounds great. the snare sample you used sounds a tad muddy and is wayy too loud, especially in the beginning. i feel like i cant hear the guitars under it. solid work tho, good transitions too. good luck man!

dude this sounds really good! lacks a tad bit of body with the snare having the opposite problem but other than that it sounds really well balanced and clear. also love the transitions so far, and that panned percussion i think it was caught me off guard in a really cool way. good luck man!

dont worry they’ll make them all the same volume before judging them. its quieter than the reference tracks i used, but its definitely loud compared to some of the other entries lol. thanks for listening :)

it feels like you set up automations for the tracks and then you moved the tracks to the beginning of your daw and the automations didnt move alongside them. other than that tho this mix is miles better my first metal mix lol

oh man that raw kick drum was a pain to work with xD i find its ok to use SOME samples, especially in this style of extreme music. the trick is to be subtle and not overuse them as most productions do nowadays. check out mine to see what i mean if u want :)

yeah i can barely hear the guitars over the drums and vocals (which sound great btw despite being sample replaced into oblivion lol) but overall a pretty unbalanced mix.

snare tone suits the song really well, maybe you could’ve brought out more of the ring from the original or the sample you used. never been a fan of super-triggered kicks but that’s just me. mix works as a super scooped 90s mix

sounds brittle and distorted. which given the genre, if that’s what you were going for it works

this mix sounds super compressed, feels like the vocals and drums are crushing everything else

in reply to: BKM’s mix #4182

midrange is nice, but it feels a bit hollow :( a better approach might’ve been giving the bass more presence in the 80-120 hz region where it more normally reside and high pass filtering the guitars accordingly. good luck man!
