Hello guys.
I started mixing acoustic music, mostly jazz, a few years ago so I had lots of fun doing this track. Totally out of my comfort zone. No time/pitch editing and no samples were harmed in the making of this mix ;-)
Cheers!
oh man that raw kick drum was a pain to work with xD i find its ok to use SOME samples, especially in this style of extreme music. the trick is to be subtle and not overuse them as most productions do nowadays. check out mine to see what i mean if u want :)
I do like the raw BD sound. I just tried to make it cut through the dense (guitars+bass) mix.
Your mix sounds really good. Cheers!
If you are out of your comfort zone, I think this is a good start. Things are clear (especially drums). I guess a bit of work here and there will lead you to great metal mixes. Keep the good work!
thanks so much for the feedback.
Nice work on the bass man, cheers!!
thanks Daniel. It was one of those moments early on the mix… Should I make it even more distorted or should I tried to preserve some of the bass and use it as an actual bass? hehehe! :-)
Sounds great. I like all the different mixes.
Thanks KOD!
I noticed my mix isn’t as loud as some other mixes here. Maybe I should’ve hit my limiter harder! What’s the final dynamic range you guys usually aim for?
Very nice. Maybe vocals are a little hurried for my taste. Are all your toms in the middle?
Hey Bromaszek, what do you think the vocals are lacking?
My toms are spread out (as is the rest of the kit) drummer’s perspective.
Thanks!
Love the job You’ve done!
This sound very unique!
Maybe more lower mids on guitars?
Keep up the good work! -
