It was about an hour ago that I realized an unconscious Frank Turner influence slipped into our interpretation of Glow. This whole time I thought I’d done something novel. Damn… A coffee on me to whomever points it out. I can’t believe we didn’t catch that.

As with my statements in feedback to others here and in prior posts in this thread, find yourself a sparring partner. You may need to copy or open the link in a new tab.

Thanks everyone for helping us reach our first 1K on Youtube! Never stop, and we don’t mean hitting our play button.

Chris Arles Music, I was so focused on giving your track a listen and response, I neglected to say thanks for your feedback. Thank you!

Let it rip, Chris Arles! Killer bend control on the fretwork, good vision and execution across the mix. I bet you pull off a mean John Mayer when you want to.

    Thanks, Patrick Class!

I won’t say either of us have any certainty that this track is what Lianne is all about, only Sith deal in absolutes. I will say people communicate things in an array of manners but you have to be looking out for it. Take for example her Def Lepperd shirt while tracking, or her acoustic covers of big rock tracks which also happen to be her highest view counts. If I were her publicist, manager, or record label I wouldn’t sign off for an openly declared battle royale of style and genre to intentionally seek out distributing 4 variants of the core style her brand already represents.

The Venn diagram of demographics reached would mostly be a single circle. That doesn’t help them help her scale up, nor does it help the sponsors of this event showcase what their platform and technologies are capable of, both of which my partner and I are all about doing. They already have the ability to get the exact version of that style with no quality control risk from her existing team. Those on her team are already really good at what they do and can do that over and over as much as it serves them to do so with real-time editorial capacity. That said, take what I say with a grain of salt. This is the first time I’ve uploaded a video to Youtube. My partner and I are still gambling like everyone else here.

Les Paul into tubes into speakers into mics. I’m gonna veil the rest as proprietary information. You gotta sweat and sometimes bleed for it, my guy. It keeps this realm sacred and prevents stagnation. Study the methods of the greats that you respond to! Thanks for sharing your link, keep it up.

I get what you’re after and I dig it. Find yourself a nearby sparring partner that also creates music even if they’re in a different genre, work together to sharpen each other daily. Keep it up!

Really catching the euro vibe on this one. My kids said it made them think of stargazing. Keep it up!

What was the first release that caused you to notice production as a distinct thing from a song?

Mine was Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill”. I snuck an older sibling’s tape because I had to hear the *sound* of the guitars and the directness of her voice on “Head Over Feet”. I was never able to get a clean cassette dub off the radio without a DJ talking over it in the rarity I was allowed to stay up late enough to catch it on the air. It was a less favored single by the local alternative station’s program director/DJs.

My partner that’s a bit younger, his was Paramore’s “Riot”. It was Farro’s drums and the other Farro’s effects choices on the guitars each coupled with the choices of Bendeth et al. To date, “That’s What You Get” is among his favorite songs. He’s not yet had the pleasure of seeing them live but I was able to see them play on a truck bed with speakers on sticks for a PA. It didn’t take them long to get to arenas.

Our question is open ended to anyone here. We’d like to hear your answers!
