Hi, Dill! Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the arrangement can really change the whole perspective of a song. I always try to uncover chord progressions that enforce the intended “message” in some way. Often songwriters can be limited by the chords or chord patterns they are familiar with, and at the same time, write melodic concepts that “need” a more complex chord treatment.
