I am not sure what happened here. If you were intentionally trying to jar somebody into convulsions…congrats. The rhythm is all janky in spots. Spots of the mix sound pretty good and others…ooof. Thank you for the listen and critique. Yes the drums were a ton of work on this one. I put a lot of time into those so it’s nice they stood out. I put a stereo widening effect on the guitars and maybe that is what is making the cymbals sound more mono. The overheads are panned slightly inward, and the room mics are panned hard left and right. You are the second person that noted this…definitely something for me to keep an eye on. I appreciate it.

Thanks, you are probably right. Some others have mentioned it is a little guitar forward/ guitar-centric. I debated bringing them down, and then waffled back and forth. Thanks for the listen and the critique, always nice to get outside perspectives.
Thanks for the kind words. The struggle was real on this one. I did enjoy the process although there were some moments where i was thinking…damn is the juice worth the squeeze lol (mainly on the drums). Good luck to you as well.
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. Always a struggle to get that low-end just right. And yes these tracks were a bit rough to deal with, not exactly ideal. The guitar tone baked in was broootal to deal with, and that left kick drum was gnarly to say the least.
Overall not a bad mix, everything is a little muffled sounding, and those kicks need more punch and clarity. this mix is a bit rough. Lots of weirdness happening. The drums are very boxy but over the top and separated from the mix. The snare has a little too much ring. The cymbals are washy, but i think they would work if the other main instruments had some more body and depth. Overall this sounds like it has hit a compressor/limiter too hard.
