Great job on this! The vocal FX were a shock at first though…pretty scary actually. 😆 As a guitarist, I would have preferred that the string noise was gated or automated out on the breaks. Overall this sounds like what I was trying to do with mine, so I can relate to it. Good luck!
in reply to: Jeff Lancaster – Malamor -Dead to the World Mix #7315@Aion Yeah I really lucked out on the bass. I just kept messing around until it felt right. I think it was the Waves BB Tubes that gave it the final touch after working on it for a while. Thank you for the comment on overall balance…many of the mixes here seem very mid, low mid, and bass heavy….and I was panicking about that because I only have small monitors to work on at the moment and it is difficult to judge what is the appropriate amount. Thanks again!🤘
in reply to: Hans Hammer – Dead To The World Mix Contest 2022 #7278I like the vocal FX….very creative. The rest of the instrument treatment works well to support the Sci-Fi feel.👍👍
in reply to: Jeff Lancaster – Malamor -Dead to the World Mix #7270@Basstricks Thanks for the great feedback! I actually didn’t use any master bus compression, as I wanted to see what I could do with compression on a pseudo mastering job later. I’m an ’80’s guy so I love my dynamic range 😝…especially on natural sounding acoustic drums. Re: the panning, I was trying to avoid adding artificial low end to the electric chainsaw guitars to make them sound bigger, so that’s why I went to the wider spread. I agree it was probably a touch too much.
Really appreciate the feedback, and will keep it in mind for next time!
in reply to: ♪ Ron Music ★ Dead To The World Mix #6839I think this is one of the better ones. The FX are not too overbearing, and they add an interesting twist to the mix. 👍
in reply to: Magdalena Kanc – Dead To The World Mix #6825I like the separation and overall balance on this.👍
