Thanks!
Great job on this! The vocal FX were a shock at first though…pretty scary actually. 😆 As a guitarist, I would have preferred that the string noise was gated or automated out on the breaks. Overall this sounds like what I was trying to do with mine, so I can relate to it. Good luck!
Nice, I like the feel. Good Luck!!!
I hear ya on the strings…. I debated that myself… Sometimes I do Sometimes I don’t mess with that… I mix mainly live so for me some is good because I think it brings some realism to things… I admit I probably should go for a better balance in that area… Thanks for the input! I truly appreciate it.
The vocal effect is a reverse reverb of a few key words panned… I felt like it needed something there to push out at you… Something coming out of the dark. Those secondary vocals are good and I felt like it needed more presence and attention for accent marks. When I mix bands like this live it is hard to make things have there own space and evenly stand out sometimes. Many local bands in this genre step all over each other… I record every show I mix live and then post mix. This contest has helped me refocus on my live captures and ideas of working towards better live captures. These stems were captured really well so it was nice to have some things to work with from a different world… More bands should work to get a better stage sound and balanced levels and I should work on my mic tones and captures in the live setting for better stims to work with in post. It would make for a better live show in my opinion. -
