Hey Hector,
That bass is real thick, man. Nice one! I can hear it grunting in the entire track. Nice and throaty (that’s what she said!)
in reply to: Malamor – ‘Dead To The World’ Colin Henderson Mix #3085I also used the BOD Sansamp for some extra clank on my mix. Great choice! \m/
in reply to: Malamor – Dead To The World 2022 Contest #3083Hey man,
This mix is pretty good! Feels pretty natural and like it was mixed on the actual bored it was tracked on!
However, I don’t think you should be offering it for $1 on Bandcamp. Do they allow it to be posted for free?
in reply to: Muddy Honky/ Malamor dead to the world #3082Interesting mix here. You panned the bass and various instruments in an interesting way. Long time since I’ve heard the snare on the left, reminds me of listening to some old mixes from the 1960 as far as the stereo field decision is concerned. Nice fat bass down the middle though, I like that!
in reply to: Si Stevoson – Dead to the World – Mix #3081Hey man,
Pretty good work here, man. That bass really carries the low end, definitely fills it out. \m/
in reply to: Scott Elliott – Dead to the World (Mix) #2981Thanks to everybody for the kind and awesome comments!
in reply to: Scott Elliott – Dead to the World (Mix) #2979Hey there. The only added tracks were three effects: a riser, a reverse cymbal, and an impact. They are carefully layered beneath the tracks just to create an extra bit of dynamics.
Everything else is from what was recorded. The vocal part at 1:18 is the opening scream from the song reversed, and then faded into the scream at the breakdown.
in reply to: Scott Elliott – Dead to the World (Mix) #2977Hey man. I chose a kick sample from my library that worked best with the context of the drums. Other than that, there are no other samples whatsoever. Not even blends or anything. Snare and toms are 100% what was originally recorded.
After that, tons of EQ, lots of plug-in gating and manual gating to deal with the cymbal bleed and such. Otherwise, it’s really just EQ and compression throughout. On the room tracks I did saturate and distort them a bit but that’s a pretty common thing to do.

in reply to: Lee Armitage – Dead To The World Mix #2884Hey Lee, good to see you here.
As I said on my live stream before, your mixes are getting so much better. This sounds tr00 and brutal, man! Nice job!
Another cat :)
I guess that’s the secret, because the mix turned out nice. \m/in reply to: Gustavo Hernandez – Dead To The World Mix #2807This is thick! Nice to hear that you cleaned the tracks as well–that helped a lot during the breaks. That snare sounds like a cannon \m/
in reply to: Dead To The World’-Malamor- Graeme Austn Mix #2806The cat makes it extra evil. ;)
Nice one – I like the extra atmosphere you added. Definitely is a great addition to the song!Nice, clean, and tight! Also, nice that you were able to keep the crash cymbals under control. \m/
in reply to: Jeremy Conklin – Dead To The World – Mix #2804Nice job keeping that crash cymbal under control. I also have to say that Parallax is killer. \m/
in reply to: Chris Gilbert – Dead to the World – Mix #2803Nice and clean \m/
