Thank you for the listen and kind words. Much appreciated. Good luck to you!
Thanks for the listen, and thoughts. Much appreciated. In hindsight…probably could have EQ’d the guitars a little smoother. Best of luck.
Thank you so much! I appreciate the kind words. I was really trying to get the drums to be ultra snappy and have impact. Some people like it, others thought perhaps a little overhyped. But it’s DEATH METAL \m/ gotta be ferocious!!! Best of luck to you.
Very solid mix! Great clarity and crunch on the guitars. Bass sounds nicely evil! :) Also i really like the transients on the Toms, makes them super precise! Love that! Only thing, for my taste, the tracks sound a bit separated from each other and could use some glue and grit to make it a bit more in-your-face. Still, very nice work, Shaun! :)
Thanks for the listen. Glad you enjoyed. I definitely put an effort in trying to isolate things and really give them their own space. The time although tuned nicely, performance-wise were lacking a bit. A lot of very weak hits. I did my best to bring out the initial attack and emphasize that. Bass guitar I just tried to make it gnarly and growl. The guitars were my least favorite thing to mix here besides the left kick drum lol. Just not an amp that I particularly care for. Too fizzy and scooped for me so I did the best I could with it. I was really trying to make everything Rewlly punch and cut through. In hindsight I think I could have glued everything s but better. I appreciate your comments. Best of luck too. \m/
Nice work, man! Really luv it! cheers!
Thanks man. Best of luck to you! \m/
I like how kick drum is “clicking”. I like heavy low-mids:)
Thanks! Some hate the typewriter click, some love it. For me it is synonymous with that era of death metal. Best of luck to you! \m/
Hi Shaun, good mix with good balance! I like the bass tone also. Very good job with drums. For my taste perhaps less mids on guitars.
Gook luck!Dude you made your own drum samples??! That’s pretty killer, they sound great. I wouldn’t have even thought of that honestly. I had a miserable time working with that left kick and balancing the two. I ended up layering in a kick sample I already had with the D4 to get a better sound with original kicks, but it was a one shot. Great job and great idea, \m/.
Thanks for the listen. More scooped mids…that is definitely the old school death metal way. Good luck! \m/
The drums ate up 75% of my time with this one. That left kick was straight shite! I remember back in the day when every metal guy had to record two separate kicks…ooooof. Dark times. LOL Thanks for the listen and kind words. Best of luck. \m/
Hey Shaun
Excellent job on this, I dig it
Some sort of low end rumble that could be cleaned up maybe ?
Nice one !Sounds definitely cleaner than other mixes, I kinda missed the kick chest sound, it is kinda absent but it isn’t that bad, still better than most mixes. It definitely fight against the most viewed submitions on youtube, the rest sound kinda very improvised I’d say. I also heard Chernobyl submition and kinda sounds too flat and boring and he added some weird samples which didn’t fit well the mix sound..
Okay man thanks for your feedback and keep rockin
