Hi McSnert, thanks for you reply, you have a keen ear. In the last hook I decided to highlight a different side of the ‘story’ by favouring the banjo. This also gives it more of an ‘outro’ vibe.
Hey, thanks for your reply. You guessed correctly; I made the verses narrower to give more pop to the choruses. In hindsight I do think I should have made the whole mix a tiny bit wider.

Serious stuff Rob! Not your first mix I take, or your second. Awesome sound and bold automation moves. It’s hard to stand out in this competition but I think you just did it.
Nice ‘live’ feel. It sounds like a band playing in my living room. There might be a phase issue in the drums though. To me they sound a bit hollow.
Very nice mix. Big and 3 dimensional. I only think the lead vocals could use a bit more compression/automation. The line ‘the word don’t need another…’ is drowned out a bit, and then the line ‘loooove sooong’ really jumps out.
