in reply to: ♪ Ron Music ★ Dead To The World Mix #6870
Thanks for the input!
You know what? The added lead was sort of a last minute thing and I had a hard time fitting it in with the mix. I really wanted some personal touch that made my entry unique but yeah, I’m not 100% pleased with the way it turned out either. Too late to turn back now since it’s already in the hands of the judges!in reply to: Bo Karlsson – Dead To The World’ by Malamor Mix #6709The mix sounds good! I’d say most things sound powerful and in balance. Cool use of FX. The added guitar is a nice touch but it sticks out of the mix a bit even though it’s at a good level volume wise. A reducing the high frequencies to take the edge off and make it sound more similar to the existing guitars would make it sit better in the mix. IMO the bass is a just a little bit too loud and the second bassdrum doesn’t have as much top end as the other which makes the double kick parts sound a bit undbalanced.
Overall the mix sounds powerful though. Nice!in reply to: ♪ Ron Music ★ Dead To The World Mix #6642Yeah, I get where you’re coming from. Your mix sounded pretty solid so the things I mentioned really comes down to personal preferences.
Here’s what I managed to piece together.-

in reply to: ♪ Ron Music ★ Dead To The World Mix #6550I think the mix sounds pretty good. The bass sounds really solid with a tight bottom end. The drums however are a bit too loud in my opinion and the sample on the snare sounds a bit too much max velocity if you know what I mean. The added FX all sound cool but maybe a bit over the top for this kind of fairy primitive death metal. Also the bass drops out on a few occasions where it doesn’t sound intentional.
Overall the mix and production sounds good, don’t know if it’s enough to win though. Time will tell!in reply to: Andrzej Jagielski – Dead To The World Mix #6515Nicely balanced mix! Especially like the way the bass cuts throught the guitars. Sounds like you used the original kick drums as well. Props for that.

Nice!
Love the guitar tone, really smooth. Pretty much everything sounds nicely balanced and sits well in the mix. If anything maybe the mix sounds a bit too compressed but other than that it sounds killer!in reply to: Johan Knutsson – Dead to the World Mix/Remix #6202Powerful and brutal mix! The heavy compression on the drums sounds awesome. Love the production work and the added FX as well.
Seems like you lost some vocal phrases in the beginning though?in reply to: Sasha Bowers DTTW MIX #6191I honestly like the guitar tone. Heavy in the midrange without sounding too boxy and leaves plenty of room for bass and high mid/treble focused instruments. The mix is definitely over the top loudness and compression wise and the vocals are a bit low for my taste but I think it could be great with some tweaks. Definitely an interesting mix.
in reply to: Samuel Fianza “Dead to the World” mix #6183Cool mix and props for not using added samples and expensive plug ins.
The bass and drums sounds great. Personally I’d have liked for the guitars and vocals to be louder but that’s a matter of taste.
Cheers!in reply to: Chris Lewis – Dead to the World – Mix #6182Cool!
It’s definitely old school sounding. The mix sounds a bit like you’ve done a bit too much. The toms and kick sound a bit flat and overcompressed and the mix in general just sounds a bit too scooped. I get the feeling the mix could be improved by working more with balance and panning and dialing back on compression and EQ. I like the delays and tape stop fx you added though. Nice touch!in reply to: Aaron Madrid – Dead To The World Mix #6179Applause for mixing without samples. That was my intention too but in the end I folded since I couldn’t get the toms sound decent.
The mix sounds really cool, everything is nicely separated and audible. Nicely done!in reply to: Ray Smetana- Dead To The World Mix #6177Nice!
The bass might be a tad loud in the mix and the guitars a bit low though. This makes the guitars sound a bit thin, maybe the EQing on the guitars are a bit too scooped. Other than that I like that you opted for a dry approach. Makes everything more in your face.in reply to: Scott Elliott – Dead to the World (Mix) #6175This sounds fucking stellar. I thought I was finished with my mix well before new years. This is one of the mixes that convinced me I needed to work on it some more.
in reply to: Martin Haglund – Dead To The World MIX #6174Nice production! Sounds like you and I had similar ideas about that to add and what to edit. I like the drum sound, dry and in your face and your guitar solo is better than mine.
Good work!in reply to: Patrik Skybäck – Dead to the world mix #6172Thanks!
I thought I was finished a week ago but hanging around this forum listening to other people’s mixes made me work on it some more. -
