Devilreaper, thank you, that’s encouraging to hear! At first I thought I might just do a raw old school mix, until I saw a YouTube comment from the guitarist of this band, Ben Kolts. He was replying to someone who asked him about the disparity between the two kick drum tracks. Ben essentially said he didn’t know and that they mostly used the trigger track since that’s what they did live anyway. So then I decided to layer in some drum samples and then that was a gateway to using other effects lol. I did keep all the original tracks in the mix though. I thought the snare they recorded sounded particularly good! Thanks again for the comment!
