Haha jeah, the sublows on the kick are a tad uncontrolled, which also makes the mixbuscomp pump a but too much. But I love the direction you went into!
Overall great mix! One major thing that bugs me a bit: It feels like the compression on the master is kicking a tad too hard, which makes louder parts a bit smaller in comparison to the quieter parts. Because of this the songdynamics feel a bit backwards and the chorus can´t shine as it´s supposed to.
Frequency balance is pretty good though!in reply to: James Dupre Another Love Song Mix #17678@mibu : Thank you! You better post this as a new thread in the forum, not as a post in my thread. Then everyone can comment on your mix there! :)
@offthewallstudio@hotmail.com : Thank you for the feedback! Will check out yours in a minute.
@Sebastian : Thank you for the feedback! I can see where you are coming from, but during mixing this felt natural to me. But of course, everything´s a matter of taste!
@AntonioGuru : Oh I´d love that haha, the competition is great though!!in reply to: James Dupre Another Love Song Mix #17508@jeracravo : Thank you!
Overall great mix! The vocals seem just a tad too wooly- kinda like they have a blanket over them. They sound extra warm this way which is cool, but together with the brighter cymbals they might be just a tad too dull.
The solo could need a healthy boost so that it stands out and gets recognized as a solo. For better song dynamics I would wish for a bigger contrast between louder and quieter parts through automation. The kick might be pumping just a bit too much, but the overall feel of the mixbus compression is going into a nice direction!
Love that you got creative and added a couple things! :)
Would appreciate your feedback as well! https://ratemymix.com/topic/james-dupre-another-love-song-mix/in reply to: James Dupre – Another Love Song (Mitch Field Mix) #17408Awesome mix! Love the transparency and how you placed everything. Only wish I´d have is that the chorus felt a bit bigger when it comes in – songdynamic-wise. Maybe through master automation or making the chorus wider than the verses. But really solid nonetheless. :)
Would appreciate your feedback as well! https://ratemymix.com/topic/james-dupre-another-love-song-mix/Great mix! Love that the whole vibe changes a bit with the banjo being louder throughout. So interesting to hear and a great approach!

in reply to: James Dupre Another Love Song Mix #17405@rentaroot + @Sebastianlindqvist: Thank you for the feedback! I can see where both of you are coming from, but somehow those well recorded drum tracks pushed me into those stronger compression settings because it just sounded so good haha.
in reply to: This is my second Mix ! Please have a listen :) #17245The vocals could use a bit more compression, since some details are getting lost when the instrumental is playing louder and James sings in the lower register. Other than that, good mix!
Would appreciate your feedback as well! https://ratemymix.com/topic/james-dupre-another-love-song-mix/in reply to: Another Love Song (Sebastian Lindqvist Mix) #17242Such a good, natural mix! Love how you placed everything. If I´d need to be picky, there´s something between the vocals and instrumental that´s bugging me slightly to get them married together better. It´s probably the lowmid area where either of the two could use some cleanup, so that it becomes more distinct down there. But everything else is pretty much on point! Love the effects on the vocals.
Would appreciate your feedback as well! https://ratemymix.com/topic/james-dupre-another-love-song-mix/in reply to: Another Love Song (Thomas Kramer MIX) #17221This mix is great! Really enjoyable to listen through.
I like the wetter approach with more reverb in a couple sections, but maybe a little less width on that reverb would leave more room for the elements that are panned out far. If it´s more mono-ish and just swirling around the vocals in the center, it would keep the mix a bit more transparent. But that´s pretty nitpicky already. Great job!in reply to: James Dupre Another Love Song Mix #17219@Thomas_Kramer : Thank you for the nice words! Will check out yours now.
@oputovitor : Thank you! You did an excellent job as well!in reply to: James Dupre Another Love Song Mix #17196@Chang: I can see where you are coming from though! I probably could have automated the drums down in a few sections.
Oh and that speaking probably is a delay swirling around somewhere ha.in reply to: James Dupre Another Love Song Mix #17195Thank you guys for all the feedback!
