The “pumping” is intentional, as well as the dark snare and the smaller stereo field. I wanted it to sound claustrophobic, dark and unsettling. Like you’re in a dark room and a claw reaches out for you. I know, this is not how Metal is mixed. The pumping is more common in EDM, still I wanted to do it this way, even if it doesn’t win a price. ^^
