It sounds good. If I may, I think the solos (guitar and slide) are a bit low.

Your remix is very interesting. Definetely not a country song anymore, but you made it clear from the title of your post.
Thank you ReNo Mellow. You have a point on compression. I’ll try to reduce it. That’s why four years (or I should say 1000 years, in this contest) are better than two. As for the snare, I tried to make it blend nicely in the mix, to avoid the hard-rock-effect, but maybe I was too shy.
Thank you RoaldvtH. You’re probably right about the banjo. The thing is that when it comes to banjo, I can’t help thinking “Deliverance” (the movie, in case you’re too young to know). :-)

Despite being a country song, I think it is supposed to be rock-ish too. I like how you pushed in that direction. Good luck!
