The trick is to do less :), I used very gentle EQ and mostly compression to create the vocal sound.

That’s a really nice mix, especially in the verses. The only thing I would be careful with is compression on the drums. The whole mix kind of collapses when the snare hits. Just some more dry signal mixed in there or backing of the threshold could make it sound more open.
Smooth version, the BVs are sometimes a bit to upfront for my taste, almost overpowering the main. But other than that really nice job!
