I am a big fan of Warren Huart’s Produce Like A Pro and of the Rate My Mix community.
After becoming aware of the competition, I called my friend Jeff Marsh and we got to work reworking the piano and the voicing. Jeff is a master composer and multi-instrumentalist who is also a ton of fun to work with. From the first time I heard the song on YouTube, I re-imagined it with my favorite bass player at the heart of it, who happens to be my very talented cousin, and as always he did a phenomenal job. Drums were provided by our great friend Jay Setar.

This song really spoke to me. The lyrics are very personal and tell quite a vivid story to which I can personally relate. Both Kim Melville and Steve Maggiora give wonderful performances, which are powerful and at times, crushingly personal. I loved working on this song and I hope that everyone who participated enjoyed the process as much as I did.
