Thanks for the comment. There’s a few things that I would like to change afterwards but that is the case I guess for most people who mix, create, finish a project etc. ;) By the way, I was wondering when I saw the name. Do you happen to be Swedish? Maybe a country nearby?
I like the way the intro builds up here and how the lead vocal and harmonies are blended. I also like drums that settle into the mix but as someone said, I would have had them maybe a little bit higher. But in general the mix is cohesive which I like. Good luck.
This mix has a slightly more relaxed feel and a focus on different instruments which I think is interesting. I’ve seen the kick drum being mentioned but I actually like the tone of it. I often prefer a rounder sound if it fits. According to my taste I maybe would’ve had it a bit lower. I liked the idea of the extra pause to wait for the vocal delay. That was a good solution. I saw you ask for a link for someone’s topic for feedback so I hope it’s ok if I add mine. Feel free to comment there if you feel like it : https://ratemymix.com/topic/allegiance-rec_-james-dupre-another-love-song-mixing-contest/
Thanks Bernie, I wondered where the mix would end up since I just listened to the reference once out of curiosity. That way it wouldn’t influence which elements to emphasize etc.
To embed the song I just added the URL of the song page. No specific code. I wondered if it would work and it seems so. Maybe you have already tried that?
