Wyatt Kuntz – Another Love Song Mix/Production Tweak

Hello!

Here is my submission for the James Dupre Another Love Song Mix Contest. I made some production changes to the song that may or may not fall into Remix category, but since I didn’t record any new instruments I think it’s still a Mix submission–I guess it will be up to the judges to decide.:) My changes were:
– changed the intro to an old-timey radio style stripped down intro of James and the banjo (can picture the video of him sittin’ on the porch, heh)
– this intro change also made the band kicking in hit a little harder.
– made the transition from Verse 1 to Chorus 1 hit better with a more impactful drum fill.
– repeated the drums from Verse 1 for Verse 2 and let everything else build more energy, rather than the drums changing which felt more rushed.
– added the “from my point of view” line to the start of the breakdown
– extended the breakdown to not kick right back into the chorus build up again.
– added the 4-on-the-floor beat to build the energy back up into the chorus (get the crowd clapping their hands in a live situation)
– also had the instruments come back in stages to build back up.
– hit the “swell” hard :)
