Hello Guys, this is my submission for the contest, used only the tracks provided along with some panning and re-sampling some of the vocal bits for some transitions(where it felt too empty), hope you enjoy, I’ll now proceed to have a blast and listen to everyone else’s summissions, let me know what you think.
Sounds very good, I do like the guitars alot. But the processing on the vocals seems a bit too much for me personally. I don’t mean the rearrangements and FX but the distortion, sounds too artificial to me for what’s supposed to feel “oldschool”. Good luck, cheers!
Ayy, thanks for the feedback man, I was worried about the vocals as well, but sounded good to me in the end, it’s one of the few times I’m actually working with vocals so it was a blast regardless.
The Bass sounds Super heavy mate. Can you tell me your Signal path?
Vocals Sounds Fresh just a bit to heavy for me. I Like what you did to the second Vocals and how you brought them in.Sure man, i ran the bass amp track through the neural dsp darkglass and eq’d out the excessive clankiness and low end, then used the DI track as the sub and bass track, rolled out the top end and reinforced with a low harmonics enhancer, then mixed the levels as I ran them into a bass guitar bus compressor, A distressor clone vst.
Very nice modern sound 💪 Did you master your mix? Your bass sound and vocal samples are outstanding 🤩
If you’re referring to whether I mastered it myself yeah, but it’s nothing special, some eq, a compressor and the limiter, didn’t want to completely crush it, just a bit.
Loving the filth on that bass. Killer drums also. Dope mix! Best of luck!
