    Hello guys, first I apologize if I was not descriptive in the past post, I recognize that for my occupation I had to do it in a hurry.

    Ok and What is my mixing work about?
    It’s an attempt to make something updated with bright, spacious sound. With a moderate snare strike in conjunction with the context of a frontal voice and where all the instruments have their distinctive sound.

    I will be open to suggestions as it is my first time in a competition and I want to grow more in this field. Greetings to all and I wish you the best of the best.

    Bring the vocals to the fore, but don’t push them out of the mix.

    In comparison with everything else in the mix, the click of the kick is the brightest (I really like it) and therefore it is slightly knocked out, it would be nice to tighten the brightness of everything else, but not too much.

    Counting with sticks in pauses, in fact, this is a purely technical moment, this usually rarely happens in a release, i.e. it is simply deleted. Listen to the original mix from the band’s release, they’re not there.

    Absolutely as you said it’s a technical step that I’m leaved because all the time got the drummer in my mind as the part of the integrity.

    Counting with sticks in pauses is done exclusively for guitarists, if the group is written at once or without a metronome, so that there is no out of sync when joining and that’s all. This is essentially an unnecessary, unnecessary part in the mix, unless it is part of the idea. But, I listened to the band’s release first and there is no countdown, so it’s a purely technical moment.

    @carl javier :
    Your mix sounds a bit uncohesive. It sounds as if each instrument was mixed in solo, but put together they sound too distinct.

    I also agree about the clicky kick sticking out too much. It seems to me that your mix is a bit muffled and muddy, and the kick is on the other hand very bright and clicky.

    So my suggestion for future mixes would be (if you’re not doing this already) :
    – A/B ing your mix against reference mixes, just to see if your mix is not completely out of whack
    – make sure your EQ moves work in the context of the mix (i.e : don’t process things in solo all the time)
    – have a good “balance and pan only” starting point mix (with no processing), print it, and start your mix from this

    Thanks for your feedback, I’m really appreciate. I’m gonna try this.
