Hi everyone, this is my take for the contest:

It has been lot of fun and challenges to finish this on time.
Thanks to Kim, Steve and Warren for proposing this challenge with these great tracks!

I almost listened to every one of your takes and I’m amazed with the quality of it.
I’m a beginner and it motivates me to learn more and more to achieve the sounds I imagine and deliver good mixes.
Of course, any feedback will be appreciated!

Best of luck to you all!

An animated journey through several grooves, to a big rocky climax.

    Yes that’s the idea

Too bad i just realized I failed mastering it, maybe I should have delivered a non mastered mix.
    Another lesson learned

    Another new song! ;-)
There’s a lot of things going on here. Good job.
Yeah, that old devil called “mastering”… Have you tried Izotope’s Ozone yet? Makes it a lot simplier!

    Good luck to you.

    Thank you!
I haven’t tried it no, since it’s the first time I mix, and first time I master, I did it with what I have, cubase pro for the mix and wavelab for the master. I tried Wave online but didn’t liked it. I have a lot to learn, that’s the thing about it!

Great energy. Loved the electric piano riff (but kept waiting for the guitars to double it… might sound cool). Also love the effects going on in the outro fade. Nice work.

    Thank you very much!
I thought about doubling this riff with both guitar and bass on a more heavy way, but felt like crossing the “too much” line and taking a direction that I didn’t planned. ;)

If you have a Focusrite-Account, it’s momentarily for free (https://id.focusritegroup.com/en/software/izotope-ozone-11-elements).

Thank you for the link, (un)fortunately I’m an Audient user ;)
I tried but guess the link works only for customers with registered products.

I like the “90s skate guitars”, or at least that’s how I hear it :) , and the electric piano is great !!

@dylanw and @drExciter, the electric piano is based on the lyrics melody, when Kim sings “of her mind that she never had” on the 2nd verse.
I found the way she sang it so clear that i wanted this melody to be heard more. Ended up being here all along :)
