    Hi folks!
I haven’t done any mixing for a while and on top of that, I’ve never mixed a death metal track before, so I couldn’t resist having a go. 🤟🤟
I may have pushed it a little too much, but I’m here for the fun of it and I only had limited time to get it done… Listening back it might be a little too hot and fat. 🤣
I flipped the image on the drums because I prefer it. (I’m a drummer. what can I say? 😊😊)
I did also blend in one of my own kick samples, but that’s the only addition.
Good luck with the competition everyone.
    Happy mixing!

There are some great mixes on here… Loads of talented mixers! 🤘
I’m thinking I should have gone for that ’90s vibe too, listening to some of the mixes already posted, but I just went with the flow.
I mixed my version ITB, but I’d love to know how many people are using a hybrid setup.

I have a couple racks of outboard gear, Comps and EQP’s with a few different Mic Pres, but it’s only for recording at the moment. I’d like to get into mixing with it and possibly others i don’t own yet, but I can’t seem to figure out how to set it up so it goes out, through the gear and back in again. I might look at other options along those lines if I can get that figured out.

I do like recording with the gear far better than a DI vocal. It gets the vocal sound 80% of the way there so you really only need to kiss it with FX ITB and that’s really only to get it to blend with the music.

I mixed my version entirely ITB too.

Super solid entry! Kinda dig the over the top approach, its Metal so I think a little “ugliness” is good. Definitely fat and brutal, nice job man!

    I here you!
I’ve spent a fortune on plugins, which I kind of regret because I don’t use 80% of them, but it’s addictive! 🤪

I’ve got a couple of eqp units as well. I had planned on using them on my mix bus, but one is faulty (noisy low end) so they just sit gathering dust. Would be nice to have a few choice pieces to add harmonics without aliasing, but then again some of the latest plugins I’ve bought are amazing.

    Happy holidays!

    Thanks, Man! 😊

There are so many good mixes and remixes here I had given up on anyone finding my mix, or having the time to listen.

BTW. Your remix is excellent! Really fresh and super creative. Very nice job! 🤘

Love it, totally has that early death metal vibe about it and makes me second guess a lot about my mix haha. The kick sounds really nice, blending in that sample.

Hi Whoosh71, Thanks for listening. Glad someone likes it! 😊😊

I had a listen to your mix. Love the intro and the verby, 90’s vibe. Nice job man.

    All the best. 🤘🤘
