Unfortunately I was a little late (2 months) late haha….. I decided to enjoy the process of mixing something a little out of my comfort zone.
I sent it to a buddy of mine (Rob Caggiano, Volbeat and grammy award winning producer) and he said its killer. He sujested to add a few things onto the master bus which I did.

    here is the mix

Would love all of your guys feedback. I really enjoyed this one

One thing that bugs me is the high hat, which has some crazy ear-piercing high end

Sounds great. Nice and punchy. There might be a little harsh sizzling n the hihats. But it suits the track fine to my ears and that’s what comes first. Please the song before trying to be perfect👍🏻 great work Buddy, cheers to you🍻🎸🎙🎶🎛

Sound very solid, maybe just a bit too bright but that might be my headphones. Also the toms sound absent in some parts(2:24) but again sounds solid.
Who knows maybe they consider everyone that’s late, from what I know it is take longer for them to hear the mixes. Good luck.

I’m not a grammy award winning producer like your #humblebrag buddy so my $0.02 probably aren’t worth much, but… As others have mentioned, there’s some really shrill high end happening throughout the track on some of the cymbals and with the stick attack on the drums. Also as mentioned some of the toms fills sound like they’ve been removed and are missing. The china in the last part sounds really out of place as well. It’s hard to describe, but everything sounds a little disjointed or not glued together maybe? Could be the loudness of the snare and kick overpowering everything else leaving it feeling flat. Well, not flat…just not dynamic? I like the chug you got on the bass though, that was a tough part to try and get sounding good IMO. Good on you for taking on the challenge even after the contest deadline passed, sounds like you had some fun with it either way which is what it’s all about for most of us. :)

You also kept the stick clicks in…that’s an instant DQ in some people’s eyes. Haha :P

I appreciate the listen and comment. Im far from grammy myself. For me its all about learning and taking advice! This was a mix done in a few hours and it was fun to do. Loved the process and cant wait for the next lot.
