So here is my entry to the competition:
Play it loud – it starts slow and gets bigger over time.
Keep supporting each other, be kindly and will all start glowing!Sounds great! The orchestral parts are well written. Moving forward, I’d suggest being more picky with vocal tuning. Try setting your tuning plug-in to F Major rather than chromatic, and slow the tuning speed. For the artistic slides she does, you could automate the tuning to turn off for those couple of notes. Well done overall. I like the creativity!
Hey Travis!
Thanks a lot for your feedback and for your hints about the vocal tuning (which is really challenging on this particular one).
I really spent some time trying out specially on the rise just before the solo part. I’m using the correction (autotune) function in Izotope nectar. Maybe with an essential melodyne license (not too expensive, I’m considering that) there will be some better results to expect.Just turning it off on the problematic sequences would’ve been the better decision. As always: “the simplest solution never comes to your mind when you need it!” :-)
I’d definitely consider Melodyne if you can afford it! It’s my go to. I typically will macro everything to 100%, and then go through and cut up notes that need to be separated, and fix things that feel unnatural. It’s a little more time consuming, but it’s more natural sounding.
Wow, Der Becker. The way you use percussion and chimes is fantastic. Incredible orchestration with strings and trumpets with a beautiful reharmonization at the end. By the way, do you put your own voice in chorus? I think that’s a very good point. On the other hand, the mix is exquisite. Congratulations!
Yes, it’s my own voice, recorded it 4 times to get a rich sounding backing.
I didn’t wanted it to pop out in front too much, as this should support Lianne’s vocals.Thank you so much for your commendation as I put a lot of effort into this.
The main difference to your project is that I can watch your hard work as you showed us your creation process “live” in your video. Thanks again and all the best to you,
AndreasVery cool the idea of orchestration and band!!
the chimes sound great fill to the song ..great job
nice, but where is cowntry style?
Great work. You really gave your creativity some @$$kicks👍🏻👍🏻 loving all those little details.
Cheers and good luck from Franconia🍻🍻🍻
I was absent for a few days…thanks for all your compliments!
Took some time to place all that chimes/percussion sounds into the right place, but really helps to keep your attention to the end.As we would say in Hannover: “Respekt, Alter!” 👍
Good luck to you. 🍻
As I would say from Weeze, Germany – Home of Parookaville: “Bedankt!!”
I really like the orchestration and the supporting harmonies. Fills out the sonic spectrum. Is that Creepy Piano 3 or Atmos 3 in there? I love those plugins! Great mix. Good luck!
