I enjoyed this! the mix is clean and the approach simple but super effective! Killer drums by the way. Nice one Lachine Machine!
Thank you very much!! I really appreciate it.
Eric is a Savage on the drums!
Like the vibe of this. Nice guitar phrasing that work well with Lianne’s vocal performance.
Thank you both for your feedback. I do appreciate it.
Tidbits about the production…
The bell was recorded at Old Presque Isle lighthouse. It weighs 3425 pounds. Real heavy metal. You can see a pic at the Lachine Machine Instagram.
Two different baritone guitars were used. A 29.5 inch scale Gretsch and a 27 inch Squier Cabronita. They both show up on our IG as well in places. They were tracked through a Stage Right 15 watt amp in the one watt setting. Straight into the amp via a di box with the di used to drive effects and reverbs. The bass is a DI. Drums are tracked here on an old Pacific kit. Snare is a 14×6 Black Beauty. Zildjian K cymbals. Tenor guitar is a First Act short scale with a Seymour Duncan in it. One of our secret weapons on some tracks.
It was tracked mostly thru Lewitt and Shure microphones with some sE and Mic parts kits thrown in for good measure.
Any questions feel free to ask em…
Such a beautiful voice, and the homie Pauly with the instruments
Awesome work! Sounds amazing, super talented crew. Shout-out to Pauly on those instruments!
I absolutely loved it. Get ahold of me
Thanks for all the love, everyone. All of us here really do appreciate it.
Great voice! I love the work they do at Lachine Machine! Pauly is so thoughtful in his playing! He makes everything “bloom”. Charlie’s mix is so nuanced with drums and guitar. Every second of it made better and cared for. They did an amazing job enhancing the vocals through instrumentation. The mix is so good!
That was the best mix ever. The way the guitar has this baritone dark vibe and the drums and bass keep the perfect root. Really great job interpreting the song and making your mix stand out. Love it.
Thank you for the kind words. Flattered and honored.
Thanks again to Lianne, Warren and all the gang. This was a really fun contest.
Thanks again to everyone who helped to crate this contest. I’m still happy to get reviews!!!! Quite a few here whose reviews I’d truly be honored to get.
It is all about, and only about, improvement. Produce Like A Pro has helped me improve SO much. (I was so bad…)
Gratitude in bucket loads!

Very rough but executed nicely. What I really like about it, respect other versions, is that you let the voice count the most in the song.
I really like that when people take that as a direction.
(my link: thanks – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWdOjRSmlo0)I tried to build something that conveyed the emotion and energy of her voice. I’m always asking myself, “What’s best for the song?”
That’s the question in the process of crafting the song. I believe the answer lies within the confines of my first sentence.
Rough in how many ways? lol
Thx for the review.
