Thanks so much for the tips, they are always very helpful. As for the kick and bass being so predominant, it is obviously a stylistic choice and I understand that not everyone may like it. Good luck in the contest.
KYo, I just listened to your mix.
Despite your explanations (all natural…) I am not convinced of the result.
There are still several major problems: firstly the snare, much too loud, sounds in stereo which is really unpleasant when listening to headphones.
The toms are very heavy, without impact and everything on the cymbals is absolutely discreet.
The bass takes center stage.
But I like the main voice even though the choirs are almost non-existent.
I don’t understand what’s happening in your mix or rather what’s not happening from 1’28 to 1’38 where there is an electric guitar solo linked to a steel guitar solo. There is nothing.
The Hammond B3 organ dominates the accompaniment to the detriment of the banjo and the acoustic guitar, I don’t hear the latter two.
Well, whatever the techniques and means used, we are far from all the tracks but that is not necessarily important, it is the final result that counts.
Not convinced that your mix reflects the “country” atmosphere. This is all a question of taste. And of course, this cannot be discussed…
Hi Chang, thanks for the comment.
For ‘all natural’ I mean that I don’t add any external sound, i use only the original audio file.
The snare is stereo on purpose to make the song dynamic in the stereo panorama.
Good luck for the contest.Ohhh! I’m anxious about my woofers! The BD really kicks, maybe slightly too much.
Good luck to you.
Very well balanced!
Don’t be scared, enjoy the punch. Everything under control hahaha. Thanks for the comment
Thanks, I’m going to listen to your mix now.
In my opinion the kick pops out a bit too much! Don’t want to be negative though! It’s a great mix!!!! Well done!!!
