Great job! Maybe the vocal is a touch hot in the mix but every ear is different.

Certainly, but since it’s a country mix, I prefer to highlight the vocals.

Sounds good! The mix is clean and balanced. It’s going to be hard to choose a winner. Give my mix a listen if you get a chance!:)

In both mixes there is ton of mud in the low mids. Seems like you are focusing on highs while eq’ing, but neglecting low mids. This mud kills dynamics. Cheers

I disagree with what you said; I paid particular attention to the low mids, especially while mixing. If you’ve downloaded and listened to the tracks, you can understand how meticulous the work is. On the other hand, you may have sensed differences in the two mixes above due to variations in sound across platforms. You’ll notice a more accurate perception in a better listening environment. Good luck!

Sorry, but there is no mistake. It’s almost reversed smiley curve. The mids are muddy/honky. Try listning on different monitoring system with the fresh ears. It helps removing any bias. GL
