In the winners announcement video it was mentioned that people here had praised at least one of the mixes already–often using it as a reference. I have not been lurking here whatsoever and there are 107 pages of posts at the time of writing so there’s no way I am going to comb through all of them.

My question is is there a way to download any of these winning tracks to easier reference against my mix? How would I find them if others were using them as a reference? Is my only option to search for winning names then reference to their SoundCloud/YouTube link (and maybe record via loopback)?

Edit: I did just see the contest winners’ mixes for steam under ‘past contest winners’. There is no delete post option here.

@linguos : you can do everything you mentioned above, but also just stream the track in your daw (using the loopback function, except that you do not record the audio, just stream it). Of course you cannot time align the streamed tracks to your track this way, but you can stream tracks for reference very quickly this way.

You can record any streaming audio with the free audioeditor Audacity (on windows system! dont know about mac)
You can choose the speaker output as the recording input
