Clear and good sounding! I’d personally like a bit more low-end, especially at 1:41.
Thank you rentaroot !
Previous versions had more low end, but I wasn’t able to get the clarity / punch I wanted out of the track without sacrificing it – though I was constantly checking subs to make sure it wasn’t thin
As for 1:41, I think you’re right. I automated the low band on a 1073 to lower in that section to provide contrast, but I may have over done it…my thinking is that, in a traditional setting, I would have been able to get this feedback and execute it – but working on a mix in isolation makes it hard to please all of the people all of the time !
Thanks for listening
You’re welcome! :-)
At least your mix has to satisfy your own demand.
I did not listen to any other participants mixes, until I submitted my own.
My only comparison was the mixing of Warren Huart himself (and the original very thin and old-fashioned release from 1997)…Good luck to you!
Same here
I only listened to my references, what little death metal I know, and some pop music oddly enough
After that, I was delighted to hear the myriad of creative choices everyone has made
So good luck to you as well !
I don’t mind 90s production of death metal tbh, it’s a vibe. Reminds me of listening to cassettes of the era.
These days it sounds too calculated…but is also a vibe.
Simpler times 🙃
snappy and clean, cool mix!
