I hope it will be announced soon :)
*btw – couldn’t hear your production’s link – good luck!
I did share my production a month ago.
There doesn’t seem to be a date for announcing the winners. :(
I think there is. I remember I saw somewhere they promised to announce the winner on the 3rd of July 2023. Maybe in the video where they advertised thus contest.
I’m really grateful they do these competitions, but this is the one part that’s pretty frustrating. If the due date was June 2, there should be a decision made within I would think 7 days. We’re going on a month later! Oh well, will keep checking back.
Well, it looks like they had over 500 entries to evaluate so I’m not surprised it’s taking a while. I really don’t think I’m going to win or even make it to the video but I am looking forward to comparing the selections to my work.
In the video they said it is 3of July but nothing happened yet. I don’t know why they promise to announce the winner on a certain date. It’s always like this and they don’t communicate with the participants about the delay. If I was them I would promise 3rd of August which I could probably guarantee. I also emailed them and asked but no answer.
Hi. They said it will be 3rd of June but I couldn’t see it. 500 is not a lot. They are many judges who the submissions get assigned to. And it’s probably about 2000 submissions tho. However it’s better not to promise a date for announcement if they can’t keep it or just announce the delay, because everyone is excited. We should know when the winners will be announced. I am also curious what they choose. Do you think there choices are reasonable? Your production can be still much better than the winners tho no matter what the judges think. As long as you submitted your track you won. 😊
Ok, I really would not like to be part of the jury… listening to so many entries, and to many of them more than one time. This will take a good amount of time. But I think the delay could also have another reason. If I got it right, the winners will be announced together with the official release of her new song. So we have to wait until the official production is finished.

Where did you here that the winner will be announced together with the release? That’s impossible. What about the legal side of this? They can’t just release your track without your, conest. Also how about the copyright agency? Your performance or other musicans’ performance that us,embodied in the record is yours not hers and accordingly you need to,deal, with her first about the copyright percentages as the particular composition that you added to the song belongs to you so you need to be registered with her as a,co-writer at the copyright agency before any release and you, are, entitled to,receive royalty plus after your publishing right to get paid after any kind use,of your track. Lastly, the record that you made on your computer is solely yours. Nobody has the right to release it without your consent. I am talking about the sound file itself that you produced. The copyright is not entirely yours but partially is. If they want to release your record they need your permission since you are the one who owns it. Not the song but the record itself that you submitted is. This means that would be very interesting if you see song released with your composition.
It’s just a thought why the announcement could be delayed. I once participated in another remix contest from Kebu. They also wanted to publish the 3 winners together with the single release. Then the single release was delayed for some reason, and that delayed the whole process of announcement, because they wanted to present the winners just before the single was released.
But hey, we don’t know as long as nobody tells us something. Maybe the winners already got an email but they don’t tell us? :)-

Yes, right. Maybe the winner was already contacted. But if you look at the malamore contest I think they delayed announcement by a month and they announced the delay very late. Did you email rate my mix and asked when they will announce it? But for sure nobody can release your sound record without your consent as it 100% yours. You are the sole owner of the sound record you produced. Lianna has the part of the copyright and the performing right and you have the publishing right 100%.
No, I keep my feet still and don’t bug them with queries. In the near future we will probably all get an email and Warren will get back to us on his channel. I remain humble and patient.
I think it would be the minimum to communicate with participants and send an email to the participants and tell ”Sorry guys I know I said I will announce, the winners by the 3rd of July but there will be a delay. Apologies but please expect the announcement on the 28th of July.” Just as a respect towards us.So,people won’t wait for it every day and keep checking the emails and the channel looking for the announcement.Asking a question via email doesn’t mean that you are not humble. They can also be humble and talk to us what’s going on. Anyway good luck with your submission. Hopefully you will get to know the results soon.
OK, let’s see if I’ve got this straight:
1) The song was written by Lianne, so it would make sense that she would be the final arbiter of whose production/mix is best for her taste.
2) I can’t believe that there’s a huge panel of judges sifting through the entries as that would introduce a significant subjective bias and negate the ethos of point 1. Maybe Lianne has some extra ears to help her out, but she would have to try to accurately communicate what it is she’s looking for.
3) I seem to remember Warren saying to Lianne at the end of the original competition video that she was likely to have a LOT of mixes to listen to. This would suggest that she will at least ‘dip into’ each track to get a taste of style/production/mix quality.
4) There are clearly many hundreds of entries, but I think this number could be whittled down fairly quickly – a bad mix will soon be apparent, as would poor production, probably in less than a minute. I’ve only listened to a small fraction of the entries, but heard quite a few where the new instrumentation was in the wrong key centre and just didn’t fit the vocal melody. These erroneous efforts could be discarded in short order.
5) That said, I’m sure Lianne has a life (!) so it will take her some time to weed out the competent entries and come up with a short-list, so I’m not at all surprised we don’t have a result yet. However, if memory serves, early July was mentioned at some point as being the likely date for release of the results, so I have to agree with Martin Audio that some kind of announcement of a delay would have been welcome. Not rocket science, but then I have no idea how busy Warren and his team, and Lianne and hers, are.
6) Finally (yes, I know), I also agree with Martin that any release cannot correspond with the winners announcement. Many legal niceties to be dealt with first – if the winning track(s) were released without the creators knowledge or consent that would be, er, problematic to put it mildly.
End of War & Peace, sorry! Good luck everyone!! -
