Benny Holgersson – Malamor Dead To The World Mix

This mix has that vibe of great death metal band practicing in their rehearsal room which I really like.

For more “pro” sounding mix you need more compression on drums, bass and vocals. EQ wise there’s a sub buildup during double kicks and I think you haven’t high passed guitars or haven’t used some multiband comp/dynamic EQ to reduce low end buildup during palm mutes. I like high end distorsion on bass but it needs a bit more lower end. There’s lots of short reverb or slapback delay on vocals which brings more of that vibe but personally I’d put them more in front because they’re so well recorded.

You could do some cleaning but this way it really has that great sounding 90’s death metal demo vibe.
