Just found out about this tonight, thought i would give the mix a shot.
It was done on a hybrid setup using a few OTB EQ’s and Compressors.
I tried to stay true to the recording so this is purely a mix job and not so much of an editing job, if i was going to edit this it would have taken me too long and i would have lost interest haha.
Drums, instead of relying on heavy sample layering i tried to match eq both kicks to eachother for consistency and worked on them from there.
im not stoked on the overhead tracks. I think i would have swapped out a cymbal or two if i tracked this.
Guitars sounded really woofy to me so i carved out some low mids
Bass i used DI for low end and used the amp track to get some grit, pretty standard.
Vocals were just bus’d out to a saturation and verb bus
Super simple mix. i havent done one in a long while so it was nice to mess around and waste some time.

Cool!
Using the kick drum mics is definitely mixing on hard mode. I like the distinct yet natural drums. I feel my drums always come out sounding either thin or hyper compressed. If anything the bass might be a bit boomy, at least in my speakers. The guitars sound great though. Good luck!
Great job! The mix sounds transparent and you kept the original feel of song!
Thanks, I should have slept on it and checked it in the morning. I already found plenty about it that I would change but it was a good to practice
