Thank you Benjamin! I wanted it to sound like it was all recorded live in the same room. Felt like the energy and vibe of the track to me!

Thank you! I understand the problem with bass in the acoustic.. It felt like when I let the bass roam free on this acoustic it felt too heavy and rumbly.. what did you do to overcome that obstacle?

Here’s my mix. What an incredible song guys. Really loved listening to it! Good luck to everyone!

I like how you handled the acoustic guitar, it was a bit of a challenge to tame and make it sound organic yet not overly bright. Good job on that. I’d like to hear a bit more bass though, a bit more definition on it and low frequency content so that it sinks down in the speakers, like this it is a bit stuck in the middle of the speakers with the…[Read more]

Thanks, Nathaniel.
I used fairly low-cost mics I’ve had for many years directly into my trusty old Allen & Heath ZED R16 desk.
AT Pro25 – kick
SM57 – snare
E604 – toms
SM58 – hi-hat
AKG C1000s – room & spot mics (cover removed)
AT ATM450 – overheadsTakes a bit more work to get a good sound, but I enjoy the process.
All the best!…[Read more]
