Very good balance, nice low-end, good mix! I’d just wish for a little bit more “brilliance”.

Don’t worry, your perfecgt in-time: today 11:59 PM PST is Feb 8th 8:59 AM 2024 in Europe (MET). :-)

    Good luck to you.

Great mix, sounds good. Very transparent. Drums are great too and rock.

Hi Patrick. Your mix is well done. The only thing, which is more of a taste thing, this that the snare is a little too up front. Other than that, great job.

Nice mix with loud vocals and attitude drums. Good job.

Yes, you are right there. At first I thought it was ok. Now, a few weeks in….I noticed that myself. But you know, I always leave some room for mastering. A professional mastering engineer always has got better tools to put in that silky high end. I guess I should have considered differently this time because it is a mixing contest. It is just in my workflow not to overdo things in case a mastering engineer wants to have a go with it. Thanks for your advice. Well appreciated.

You are right there. I chose for that approach. You know, most of the pro mixing engineers go for a mono approach nowadays. I though that the song was so much straight forward that I went with the idea to let it come out of the speakers instead of trying to create ambience. But very good observation. And the fact that you noticed it, well says that you have got good ears. Thanks for your comment.

Do not understand how the comment section really works. It would be nice if it put the reply straight under the initial comment so that we know if we had already answered. But thanks for your kindness. I will check you out as well.

Someone in the comments on my youtube upload pointed out that my mix almost sounded mono. Well, guys, I totally focked up.
When I entered the contest I had been sick in bed for two bloody weeks and it lasted as with so many others in Italy….3 whole weeks.
I mixed the song nonetheless and I thought that I did a great job.

So, I could not believe that I made a mix like that when listening back to it and thought that it must have been because my head was still full of headaches and such. But then today I checked and went to my mastering project and guess what. I bounced the song with the Brainworx bx_solo plugin set to mono. Aaaahhhh.
What a nightmare. So, I will insert a link to listen to the song how it had to be……in blooodddyyy STEREO!!!!!
    Oh maaaannn!!!! Hahahaha.

    Hey Arvid,
As I told you I chose for not of a too much stereo mix this time.
Yesterday I checked everything and guess what. Well check out my new entry and the text that I wrote.
Even though some liked my mix……it was only the mono as my plugin that I use to check the mono and stereo field was set to mono when bouncing.
I feel so…….well fill it in for yourself. Hahahaa.
