Hi Everyone, I hope you’re healthy, happy, and positive!
I had a lot of fun with this. What a joy and privilege to mix such a great song and beautifully recorded stems!
I’d love to hear your feedback. Please comment here or on the YouTube video: https://youtu.be/EKwrm74nrZE
It’s been emotional.

Hi Ed… at time of posting, the link doesn’t seem to jump to the YouTube video automatically (might be just me..?)… however, I’ve heard your mix already, on the Working Audio Tools video… lots of nice attention to detail stuff… is that done on your new monitors..?
Hey Ed,
Nice work!
Couple of small things for me.
The snare in the choruses is great and fits really nice.
In the verses not so much.
Perhaps a bit of automation on the threshold to lessen the smack?
Also mix wise in the choruses the freq fill is great for me. Sounds big and powerful and open.
In the verses though it sounds like a marked difference in fullness, even though there is less playing I would like maybe some form of compensation.
Sounded like some form of missing freqs (possibly mids not sure)
Difficult to explain sorry.
Anyway I’m rambling on!
Food for thought anyway.
Loving your work and your passion for knowledge.
Cheers!Nice mix!
Feel free to check out mine!
Good luck!I deleted my entry. I tweaked the mix after the podcast episode (https://youtu.be/QbQ_u_Oiryw?si=OTxsj7WXPjhvEfFQ) and I ruined it. I will probably upload a new version to YouTube but it won’t be in the competition, I fucked that opportunity – Lol.
Good… that’s one less properly-decent stab out of the way, to give the rest of us more amateurish souls a chance at winning somethi— oh, bottoms… did that post..? Erm… I mean, oh dear, Ed… I’m sure (genuinely) that your new mix will be even better.
