Hey Mike, nice energy in this arrangement. Like what you did there with the solo guitars, wish I could hear them a little more in your face as they were buried in the track. I think overall what you got here is good and all the elements are there, I feel it just needs to be looked at from a mixdown standpoint for that last 10 % to polish off. Nice work putting it together though!

Well Mike. Late or not. You finished and that is important as well. Most of us have problems finishing. As Andrew Scheps says: A mix is never finished.
Nice guitar sound between the chorus and second verse. Instead that sound in the solo could have been a bit more upfront. But hey, who am I to judge. Keep on making music. Enjoy life!!!

    Hey Mike,

as you already mentioned by yourself, you have to improve your mixing skills (and that’s why we all are here: learning by doing!). 😃

You had some good ideas (arrangement, rhythm), and a cool solo at 1:37 and 3:20 with a really good sound, but I’m hearing some “blue notes” on the bass that do not fit my musical habit. 🎸
The mix could use a little clean-up in the lower mids (slightly muddy), the drums could be more brilliant (use better samples or more hifi-like EQing). 🥁
The solo-guitar is “far-away”, I would automate it to place it more in front. 🎸
The vocals are always a difficult task (and even more a matter of taste), I personally always leave them untouched in tuning and timing (I’m no friend if this autotune-bullshit). But a little EQing and decent compressing can make the vocals shine, I always use the send-channel for reverb/delay and the side-chain for compressing the fx-channel. 🎤
At least, put a master-chain-compressor to the stereo-sum, try to reach an end-level of -1db and cross-check with e.q. https://youlean.co/download-youlean-loudness-meter/ . If you plan to publish to online-platforms like spotify, yutube, soundcloud, etc. you should not exceed a integrated loudness-level of -14db LUFS. Some recommandations say, -9db LUFS would be also tolerable. It depends on the genre and who you ask! 🔊

That’s just my 2 cents. Hope it helps, and best regards, Jens
